Sometimes you overlook your bathroom when decorating or redecorating your home. Although your bathroom isn’t a room all your guests see, it would be beneficial to spice it up for those who do get a chance to see it. Do it for yourself as well. Wouldn’t it be nice to bathe in a place where you can relax as you clean up? Consider these ideas when your looking to add a little flavor to your home.
1. Add Wall Art
Depending on your bathroom theme, the wall art can be very simple. Adding a couple of frames and plaques is all it takes. Most people like to frame family portraits on an empty wall in the bathroom. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy, but it’ll add some creativity.
2. Area Rugs
Rug in the bathroom? Yes. Rugs can be used as an accent to your bathroom floor. It’s surprising how something so simple will transform a bathroom so plain into a room with a personality of it’s own. It’s good to use a rug with a solid color, although we prefer a decorative pattern to make it more fun.
3. Add Some of Your Personal Touch
Don’t forget about yourself in all this! Think about personal items or decorative accessories you can use around your bathroom. Like candles, vases, etc. Items like this can make your bathroom more lively. It’s always a good idea to add in some flowers to your vases. The smallest touch of nature can make a room so calm and relaxing.
4. The Lighting
Something that we must never ignore is the lighting in a room. Using differently heights of lighting as well of different types of fixtures can create a relaxing ambiance. You will need vanity lighting around your mirrors and always add another touch by adding a chandelier. Bathrooms usually come with a boring ceiling light fixture, so jazz it up by replacing it with creative light fixtures.
5. Mirrors Are A Must
When do you ever see a bathroom without mirrors? Most likely never. Mirrors are an essential to a bathroom and you must always have one, if not a couple. Mirrors add value and and create an illusion of space. You can always add a floor-to-ceiling mirror installed at the far corner of the bathroom to add depth. There’s so much a mirror can do for you and it should be a priority for your bathroom.
